Prior to my work with Devon, I had just started a new job. I was feeling very alone and isolated in my position. Throughout my work with her we really tackled this feeling head on by addressing the issue at its core. I was able to have difficult conversations that in the end left me feeling more connected at my workplace. 

 Working with Devon helped decrease my sense of workplace burnout, re-prioritize what was important to me, be more creative in visualizing what was next, and start visualizing and planning for a future in my career.

I started working with Devon as a nurse coach about 4 months ago. At the time, I was feeling unfulfilled and unmotivated in my career. I feel as though I was seeking clarity regarding difficult life choices and, really, acceptance of these as well as feelings about my place in life. Before working with Devon I felt overall apathetic. I didn’t have a lot of motivation to do a lot of things that I knew I needed to do or things I wanted to do. Once meeting with Devon she would encourage me to set goals, I felt that I was being encouraged and held accountable in a positive way. Once these meetings were set I could talk out the reasons for the apathy and make my positive changes. Devon let me lead in our sessions but did a great job at guiding if I felt lost or I wasn’t sure where to go in our sessions. I always felt heard and never judged. Since my sessions with Devon I’ve made positive changes getting back to my exercise routine, getting in the habit of packing my lunch for work and building confidence in the workplace. I have learned ways to hold myself accountable and find ways to handle stress. I would recommend coaching to anyone needing help continuing habits, starting habits, building confidence and healthy routines. Overall Devon has improved my quality of life.

My life before meeting with you was nothing out of the ordinary for a single mother of 3. I work and go to school full-time, not leaving room for much of anything else. I have and always will be grateful for all that I have in my life. My friends are my family and my family is amazing. I have lots of support all around me and for that I am blessed.

As I told you when we started, I am very far from perfect and I am not without issues, I just choose to face life with a smile and take it as it comes. I learned so much about myself on a deeper level that I have never explored. With your guidance, I was able to open up a part of myself that I was scared to talk about, let alone try to fix.

I really enjoyed opening the sessions with a little meditation and deep thought. I noticed that the rest of my day was happy and easy to get through, as if I had left the weight of the world on the table at home for the day. It was amazing to have a friend to talk to about “life” issues that never seem to be fixed or go away but yet remain hanging on the list of things to tackle. Hearing myself admit to these issues, in a way, validated why I feel the way I do about many “issues” that I choose not to face head on. Devon was a wonderful coach and I am so grateful for our time together.
